Cookie policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy explains how SwissDoc (www.swiss-doc.ch) uses cookies and similar technologies.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies let the website remember your actions and preferences for a certain period of time.
Cookies used by SwissDoc
SwissDoc only uses cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the service to work, as well as the anonymous, cookie-free audience measurement described below. We do not use any statistics, marketing or advertising cookies.
Essential cookies and local storage
• Session cookie: keeps you logged in while you browse. Deleted when you close the browser.
• Firebase authentication cookie: stores the authentication token that confirms your identity after you log in. Duration: the length of the session.
• Language preference: remembers the interface language you chose (English, French, German or Italian).
• Firebase Authentication local storage: the Firebase login module keeps the session information needed to keep you logged in in your browser’s local storage. It is erased when you log out.
• Application local storage: drafts in progress and interface preferences (for example welcome messages already seen), kept only in your browser.
• Error tracking (Sentry): if a technical error occurs, a report (error message, browser, page concerned) is sent to Sentry so that we can fix the problem. Sentry is not used for advertising or to track your browsing, and session recording is switched off.
• Process measurement (session storage): a random identifier, not linked to your account, connects the steps of a single visit (template page, sign-up, assistant, creation, download). It is erased when you close the tab. No IP address, no e-mail and no document content is recorded.
Anonymous audience measurement, no advertising
SwissDoc uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free audience measurement tool: it counts page views and where they come from in aggregate form, without identifying visitors or following them from one website to another. We do not use Google Analytics, nor any advertising or social media tracker (such as Facebook Pixel). No tracking or behavioural analysis cookie is set.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the service from working normally (login, keeping your session open).
• Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
• Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
• Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
• Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Changes
If this policy changes (for example if we introduce new types of cookies), we will update this page and, if necessary, inform you by e-mail.
